Statement by President Katalin Novák

May God rest the soul of László Sólyom, the late President of Hungary!

László Sólyom was an internationally renowned jurist who, first as a participant in the National Round Table and then as the first President of the Constitutional Court, played a defining role in the regime change and the establishment of constitutional frameworks that have continued to shape our democracy and lives to the present day.

I am grateful that he shared his experiences with me.

Sándor Palace considers the late President as one of its own, even in death.

In his memory, the national flag was lowered to half-mast at Sándor Palace.
