Sándor Palace also joined the "Red Wednesday" international solidarity action

"Red Wednesday", an awareness-raising and solidarity initiative for persecuted Christians, has been organised worldwide since 2015 by Aid to the Church in Need. 

The campaign includes the illumination of public buildings of symbolic significance in red light at night as well as solidarity events.

This year, Hungary will join the initiative by illuminating the emblematic sites of the Buda Castle Palace District, including Sándor Palace, in red, from 16:30 to 22:00 on 22 November.

The main goal of the Hungary Helps Programme is to raise awareness of the situation of persecuted and needy communities among the national and international public, and therefore Hungary will join the initiative through the international conference "Peacebuilding - Cultural Heritage Protection - Christian Communities", which will take place at Várkert Bazaar in Budapest.
