Katalin Novák met with the President of the European Parliament

President of Hungary Katalin Novák met with President of the European Parliament Roberta Metsola to discuss Hungary's preparations for the Presidency of the Council of the European Union in the second half of 2024.

"I trust that in 2024, we will have another successful Hungarian Presidency," declared the Head of State, adding that the President of the European Parliament also anticipates the same.

Since Hungary's accession to the EU in 2024, it has held the rotating presidency of the Council only once, in the first half of 2011. The next time Hungary will assume the Presidency will be in the second half of 2024.
