Today holds significant importance also because Hungary has finally become a part of the Berlin Process, allowing us to present Hungary's stance at the highest level. Katalin Novák, attending for the first time the Berlin Process Summit in Tirana as Hungary's representative, emphasized that Hungary's position is clearly in favour of the EU's enlargement to include the Western Balkans.

The Head of State added that Hungary and the EU both need the Western Balkans as well as its stability because, without the stability of the Western Balkans, Europe, including Hungary, cannot be secure.

The President also mentioned that she attended the summit at the invitation of Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama to convey that Hungary will do everything in its power for the swift integration of the Western Balkans. She further stated that when Hungary assumes the EU's rotating presidency, it will speed up this process. The Hungarian President believes that Hungary is an indispensable factor in the EU's enlargement to the Western Balkans.

This year, the Berlin Process Summit, aimed at promoting cooperation among the countries of the Western Balkans and their European Union integration, was held in Tirana. The Berlin Process was established in 2014 as a high-level cooperation platform between the representatives of the Western Balkan Six (WB6), consisting of Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, Montenegro, North Macedonia, and Serbia, and the representatives of the countries receiving the Berlin Process.
