The President of Hungary met with Fatih Birol, Executive Director of the International Energy Agency.

At the meeting, Dr. Tamás Sulyok highlighted that one of the priorities of the Hungarian EU Presidency is to improve the EU's competitiveness. 

The Head of State added that the aim of Hungary's energy policy is to ensure security of supply and to establish energy sovereignty. This requires steps such as a secure and flexible energy system, fair, sustainable and clean energy transition, affordability for consumers and competitive energy prices for businesses.
