Dr Tamás Sulyok welcomed the President of the Inter-Parliamentary Union
President of Hungary Dr. Tamás Sulyok received Dr. Tulia Ackson, President of the Inter-Parliamentary Union and Speaker of the House of the United Republic of Tanzania, who is on an official visit to Hungary, for a working dinner. The President of Hungary stressed that Hungary has been a member of the IPU since its foundation 135 years ago, a supporter of the promotion of the SDGs to parliaments and one of the developers of these goals.
According to the Head of State, Hungary's position has been in line with the IPU's principles from the very beginning, such as the establishment of trust and peace through diplomacy, which is a priority in times of war in the world.
Dr. Tamás Sulyok thanked Tanzania for its work for the security of the African region. The security stability of the sub-Saharan region is important for the defence of Hungary and Europe, and Hungary is seeking to renew and further strengthen its partnership with the countries of the sub-Saharan region through its policy titled Opening to the South.
