Field trip on the dams
Dr. Tamás Sulyok, President of Hungary, visited the settlements most vulnerable to the Danube flooding, including Neszmély, Dunaalmás, Vác and Pilismarót, to learn about the details of the flood control measures.
As the Commander-in-Chief of the Hungarian Defence Forces, he paid special attention to the professional and reserve soldiers serving on the dams.
The Head of State thanked the exemplary cooperation of the water authorities, the defence forces, local authorities, civil guards and volunteers, thanks to which help has been received from all parts of the country.
Dr. Tamás Sulyok stressed that the expertise, camaraderie and bravery displayed by those participating in the flood control efforts made them the heroes of everyday life.
