Appointments and promotions as general

On a proposal by the Minister of Defence, President of Hungary Katalin Novák promoted Lieutenant General Dr. László Böröndi, Chief of the Defence General Staff, to the rank of Colonel General, Brigadier General Zoltán Somogyi, Director of the Defence General Staff, to the rank of Major General, and appointed Colonel József Szücs, Organisation Director of the NATO Military Committee, as Brigadier General.

The President of Hungary – on a proposal by the Minister of the Interior – promoted Police Colonel Dr. Gábor Terjék, Head of the Office of the Director General of the Counter-Terrorism Centre to the rank of Police Brigadier General from 20 August 2023, and promoted Colonel Béla Varga, Firefighters, Director of the Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg County Disaster Management Directorate to the rank of Brigadier General, Firefighters.
