Katalin Novák attended the Chivalric Tournament of Sinj at the invitation of the Croatia’s Head of State
President of Hungary Katalin Novák met with President of Croatia Zoran Milanović in Sinj, where the Hungarian President attended a Chivalric Tournament going back more than three centuries at the Croation President’s invitation.
At what is generally known as the „Sinj Alka”, participants commemorated the victory in 1715, when the town’s heroic defenders halted in Dalmatia the Ottoman army trying to advance towards Europe.
At the historical knights’ tournament, dozens of traditionalist horseback riders competed with one another to loud cheers from the audience. The event was also attended by the Hungarian horseback riders „Bakonyi Poroszkálók” – or Padders from the Bakony Hills.
The Heads of State – both accompanied by their spouses – visited the exhibition entitled “Stipe Sikirica – The Closeness of Man and Homeland” as well as the Alka Museum.
