Applications for the Stipendium Peregrinum Scholarship Programme open again

Component B of the Stipendium Peregrinum Scholarship Programme (STIPI), which covers the costs of study abroad for the most talented young people, is open for applications again, Sándor Palace told MTI on Friday. 

The statement says that applications can be submitted in the period between 26 May and 12 June. The chief patron of the Stipendium Peregrinum Programme is President of Hungary Katalin Novák, the programme's initiator and promoter. 

According to the statement, the Stipendium Peregrinum Scholarship Programme aims to support young individuals of outstanding talent financially and professionally. Students admitted to the world's most prestigious universities are eligible to apply for the non-repayable STIPI B component. 

The grant will enable scholarship holders to develop their skills in an international environment, gain the most up-to-date knowledge and obtain their first degree abroad. 

The scholarship will provide the winners with substantial financial support, covering all their expenses for a year, from tuition fees to travel, accommodation and meals. Applicants can receive up to HUF 28 million per person. 
Applications from young people aged between 17 and 23 are invited until 14:00 on Monday 12 June, and can be submitted via the online application form on the website csaladpartialapitvany.hu, by uploading the necessary attachments. 

The Stipendium Peregrinum Scholarship Programme – for the fourth time this year - is part of the National Talent Programme. 

The statement stressed that the budget available for the three components of STIPI this year is higher than ever before, at around HUF 800 million. In recent years, a total of 429 young people have applied for Component B, 77 of whom have been awarded grants. The lowest grant was HUF 2 million, the highest almost HUF 23 million. 

Currently, 56 young people are studying around the world with the help of Component B or C of the scholarship. The latter provides financial support for stipi-holders who successfully completed the scholarship conditions and are already in the programme to continue and complete their studies. 

In recent years, the programme has enabled young Hungarians to study at the University of Cambridge, the University of Oxford, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in the United States, the University of Amsterdam, the École Polytechnique in France and the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zurich in Zurich, among others, the statement said.
