Katalin Novák expressed her condolences to the relatives of the Syrian victims of the earthquake

In her Facebook-post on Friday, the Hungarian Head of State emphasized that in addition to the President of Türkiye Recep Tayyip Erdogan, she also expressed her condolences to Syria’s church leaders following the earthquake that has already claimed more than 20,000 lives.

The President of Hungary conveyed the condolences of Hungary and the Hungarians to the church leaders in a letter.

Katalin Novák praised on social media the work of Hungarian volunteer rescue teams, who saved the lives of several people following the disaster.

"Hungarian rescue teams have already saved many lives, thank you for your sacrificial work! We pray for the injured and the families of the victims!" – the Head of State wrote in her post.
