The Head of State cheered for Hungarian athletes at the European Rowing Championships in Szeged

President of Hungary Dr. Tamás Sulyok visited the European Rowing Championships held in Szeged. The event is of historic significance for the sport, as the best rowing athletes of Europe have not competed in a continental race on Hungarian soil for 54 years, and Hungary has never been the site of a qualification race before.

600 athletes from over 30 countries arrived to participate in the rowing event, one of the most important before the Paris Olympic Games, striving to win the European Champion title, and to obtain the quotas during the Continental Qualification Regatta selecting participants for the 2024 Paris Olympic and Paralympic Games.

The President of Hungary personally presented the medals to the winners of the men’s para single sculls race.
